Apple has already fixed the baseband problem. This article is outdated. The contents below are unreliable.
Today, Apple stopped signing versions for several legacy devices.
| Devices | You can’t do these anymore |
| iPhone 4 | Restore to iOS 7.1.2 |
| iPhone 4s iPad 2 (iPad2,3 CDMA) | 1. OTA downgrade to iOS6.1.3 and iOS8.4.1 and 2. restore to iOS 9.3.5 and iOS 9.3.6. |
| iPhone 5 (GSM and CDMA) | 1. OTA downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 and 2.restore to iOS 10.3.3 and iOS 10.3.4 |
| iPhone 5c (GSM and CDMA) | 1. Restore to iOS 10.3.3 and iOS 10.3.4 |
| iPad mini (iPad2,6 and 2,7) iPad 3 (iPad3,2 GSM) iPad 4 (iPad3,5 and 3,6) | 1. OTA downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 and 2. restore to iOS 9.3.5 and iOS 9.3.6. |
Generally,
You can’t use coolbooter to make dual-boot system and activate on these devices.
You can downgrade if you have your device’s SHSH, APTicket, baseband ticket, etc.
This is not a usual unsign, as this unsigns the baseband firmware, stopping any devices listed above from being able to restore in the first place, even with SHSH.
Since the last Mav5 device (iPad3,6) has been unsigned, this marked an end to the whole golden era of legacy devices.
This has a massive impact, and we will remember this day.
If you have posted any tutorials about iPhone 4s OTA downgrade, please kindly remove these, because it won’t happen anymore.
I am very disappointed with Apple.
The End
